Athabasca Falls

Leaving Jasper and heading back to Lake Louise, our first stop was just off the Icefields Parkway. Athabasca Falls is about 18 miles south of Jasper on the Athabasca River. It's not a very high falls, but a lot of water flows over the falls and through the quartzite and limestone rock, carving its way north toward Jasper. There are a few paths and a number of overpasses and platforms from which to view the river and falls.
