Beauty Creek Canyon

The trail to Beauty Creek Canyon starts at an unassuming gravel parking spot along the Icefields Parkway north of the Columbia Icefield and south of the Beauty Creek Hostel. You walk along a berm, through some woods, and  up to what looks like an old roadbed (and actually was part of the original Icefields Parkway). A half-mile walk along the old road leads to a path up into the woods with the canyon to the right. The path takes you along the edge of the canyon and as you follow it upstream, it takes you to numerous cascades and seven waterfalls until you get to Stanley Falls. All this in another half-mile. This was the most stunning two-mile hike we took in Alberta. We liked it so much we went twice. And I like a lot of the images I made there, so here are a lot of them.
